Volunteer with The Blood Alliance! Support from dedicated people comes not only from those who donate, but also from those who work as volunteers. Volunteers are those very special people who care enough to donate their time, effort and concern. The Blood Alliance's volunteer program is planned in conjunction with our mission to provide a safe and reliable blood supply and is a vital part of our organization and its service to the community. Volunteers share their expertise with us while also learning new skills, meeting new people, and experiencing the satisfaction of helping others. All volunteers are required to attend a brief orientation before beginning service. Once completed, you may volunteer as much as your schedule allows. We can schedule your orientation at the center nearest to you. Please call (904) 353-8263 or (888) 447-1479 with any questions or to schedule your orientation! You can also email for more information. We have a Volunteer Agreement which must be filled out and signed, and a Volunteer Handbook which should answer many of your questions. There is also a brochure further explaining the volunteer program. Here are some examples of how you can generously donate your time: Drawing Room Assistant - Perform "Strip & Seal" procedures for donor product containers (minimum age 17, proof of Hepatitis B series vaccination, and parental consent form). Blood Mobile Assistant - Greeting donors, registration, providing refreshments during blood drives, etc. Special Events, Health Fairs, & Special Projects - Working with our staff at community blood drives and donor events, assisting in preparation of promotional materials, greeting donors, registration, wearing the blood drop suit (our mascot), working the Pepsi Experience at all Jaguars home games, etc. Office / Clerical - Copying, promotional buttons, making posters, helping with bulk / mass mailings, etc.
